James Macdonald Principal
Jim earned his Bachelors degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College in 1999. He also has a degree from the University of Massachusetts in Social Thought and Political Economy. Jim’s architectural style evolved from his passion for photography and is expressed through a sensitive use of light and spatial composition. His buildings provide beautiful gathering, working and resting spaces as well as an easy daily flow of movement for its inhabitants. He is committed to design that is environmentally friendly and economical. Jim has over 20 years of experience in the architectural field, and has designed and managed many projects both large and small. Prior to establishing Maple Avenue Design, he work for several nationally recognized firms including Dewing & Schmid Architects, Elkus/Manfredi Architects and The Architects Collaborative.
Peter earned his Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College and has a master Degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Peter’s architectural style reflects the strong influences of the modern architectural movement. His designs are open and light filled with strong geometry and clean lines. As an architect Peters has experience as an Associate at Notter Finegold & Alexander in Boston, he was Director of Design at LBC&W Associates of North Carolina as well as a sole practitioner in Marblehead. Peter is involved now as a consultant on project need basis.
